4th of July Airshow prior to fireworks

Scott Airshows Pitts S1S - Pilot: Dave Scott - "Doin it Rhythmically Crisp!"

Airshow Prep for SAC Checkout

Purposely moved airplane in 1500' within 5 maneuvers against 15 kt x-wind. Nailed every speed and 500' base altitude at bottom of every maneuver within 10 ft! (Constantly monitoring airspeed and alt is the excuse for missing some of the points!)

Summer 2015 Airshow Practice

Nailed my positioning and all altitude and airspeed gates during this late June practice flight.

2015 Spring Airshow Practice

Nailed positioning and all altitude and airspeed gates during this late June practice flight.

2015 Spring Airshow Practice

Early spring practice for the upcoming airshow season. Main objective for the flight was nailing down altitudes during the sequence and thus spent as much time looking at the altimeter as outside.

Scott Airshows Spring Practice #2

Practicing for the upcoming airshow season.

Scott Airshows Spring Practice

Early spring practice for the upcoming airshow season. The objective of this flight was to keep this new routine 1000' from the simulated show line in a 40 mph quartering x-wind.

Scott Airshows combines his amazing personal story of innovation and perseverance with an aerobatic performance featuring continuous action, crisp precision, and constant variety that eclipses the usual barrage of tumbles and stock maneuvers seen at most airshows.

The airshow sequence and my flying has evolved considerably since this was filmed, but considering that this was an early attempt after an 8 month hiatus from flying to work on the plane, this session was very encouraging, i.e., speeds, positioning, and altitude all worked out great even as rough as the flying was.

Video: 2006 St. Paul R/C Airshow “Everything in the Book”

This was the first airshow that I flew after designing an entirely new sequence.  Today I fly a 35% H9 Extra with smoke in my airshows (when I'm not flying full-scale airshows in my Pitts).  I like to think that every aspect of the performance has improved considerably since this was filmed using an 72” wingspan Edge.

This airshow was a good test of the brand new sequence that I had just designed.
